Silhouette

I feel a void tonight,
for I can’t find you by my side.

I reach across the expanse of my bed,
and find emptiness instead.

I miss the presence of your arms,
wrapped tightly around me; keeping me warm.

I miss laying on your chest,
listening to your heartbeat; slowly closing my eyes to rest.

I miss your sweet kisses,
and silent whisper wishes.

I think about us tossing & turning through the night,
and smile, for you were right…

We may sleep less,
but we find peace in the each others caress.

There is a comfort in your presence.
