Even when you’re not here,

I find your presence near.

Dampness in the corner of my eyes,

I shake them away;

Thinking back to our memories …

Now melancholy in my sway,

I dance around the room –

My arms wrapping around the sillage of you.

Trails of memories,

A smile begins to ease,

I catch my reflection in the mirror –

It’s you I see. 

I smile bigger,

I know it to be true- 

The happiness in me,

The light in me,

The laughter in me,

The hope in me,

All of it –

is because of you.
